-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This symphony is a great artistic challenge due to the fact that it manages to make written and closed music coexist in time (the orchestra, the accompanying or solo violin solo, piano parts, the melodic motif of the saxophone and vibraphone, etc.) with both free and improvised improvisation guided in the solo ensemble formed by the 10 instruments mentioned above. Likewise, it includes electronics both in the electroacoustic sense (guitar or synthesizers) and with computer-controlled electronics both live and added in the studio.
(It should be noted that this work is completely written in score and every detail measured, it is not the result of improvisation or construction in the studio, although obviously and for production reasons, it has been carried out in the studio).

This symphony is based on the work IYO ASERE, for Orchestra and Jazz combo composed (and written) by myself.

This work is directed by Arturo Tamayo Ballesteros and Ane Legarreta Mendez. With the participation of the Musikene Symphony Orchestra created and formed for this occasion by José Ángel Babiano Ávila. With the participation of the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra (BOS). With the participation of Albericolá (soloist ensemble, led by Ledian Mola, bass), José Ángel Babiano (piano), Denis Barzaga (Batá Drums) and Unai Celaya (solo violin). Study electronics added by José Ángel Babiano.

My real artistic challenge with this symphony is to distort the listener's perception of time, to the point where they feel that the symphony lasts in its entirety, about 20 minutes, not the hour it lasts. Completely transform the listener's perception of reality, imbue him in a state of time abstraction and total 'trance', provoke him into an altered state of consciousness. For this, I fundamentally rely on continuous repetition and unpredictability within a simple rhythmic environment and in a specific harmony that does not change, in general, throughout the symphony. There are spots in that harmony, but the 7-note mode is always the same, it is not tonal, it is modal, from there, I rely on the use of the timbre of the instruments, be it soloist, ensemble or orchestra. On the other hand, I contemplate a small, gentle dose of artistic "savagery" and continued mental stimulation through abuse of the listener's subconscious through its continual provocation.
